WILLIAM F. ( SONNY) NELSON of Gardendale passed away on June 29, 2010 at the age of 69. He is survived by his loving wife Charlotte Horton Nelson; a son, Chris Nelson (Keeli) of Gardendale; 4 grandchildren, Emma, Carter, Olivia and Seth Nelson; one brother, Joe Nelson (Betty) of Berry, AL; 2 sisters, Dorothy Edmonson of Berry, AL and Inez Smith of Cahaba Heights, AL. Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, William Clyde and Emma Ruth Nelson and sister, Betty Fowler Campbell. Mr. Nelson was a member of Fultondale First Baptist Church for over 30 years, he was retired from the National Guard and American General Insurance Company. In lieu of flowers donations may made to the First Baptist Church of Fultondale. He adored and loved his 4 grandchildren very much. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10 am at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel Dr. Frank Sims officiating, with visitation on Thursday evening from 6 until 8pm.
