Alan Darin Maughan

Alan Darin Maughan, 48 of Georgetown, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Visitation and a time of sharing memories with the Maughan family will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH35, Georgetown, Texas. A service celebrating Alan's life will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 4:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery, where Alan will be laid to rest next to his mother and father. Alan was born in Trumbell, Connecticut to the late James C., Sr. and Doris M. Lemlin Maughan. He graduated from Georgetown High School in 1983 and went on to attend Central Texas College and Captial Trade & Tech School. Also attending B.O.M.I and earned his System Maintenance Administration designation. Alan work in HVAC industry for many years, most recently with MTech of Austin. He enjoyed working on commercial air conditioners. Alan was a talented drummer and enjoyed playing with friends in several bands, including "Aces High", "Kings of the Motel Six", and "Old School". On October 19, 2012 Alan married, Lisa Michelle Evans. Alan is preceded in death by his parents, James and Doris Maughan, Sr. Alan leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa Maughan of Georgetown; his stepchildren, Amber Howard and Brian Howard; his brother, James C. Maughan, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Waco; his sister, Carol Gregor and her husband Alan of Round Rock; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brad and Mindy Evans; his mother-in-law, Lynda Evans; his nieces and nephews, Josh Evans, Zach Evans, Nathan Evans, and Maya Evans; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
