Joan Rahnke, age 79, passed away peacefully in Georgetown, TX on March 26, 2007. Joan was born on March 23, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to Hugh and Alice Burns Cranmer. She later married Christian John Rahnke on January 12, 1957. They were members of St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown. Joan and Chris spent most of their time in Ft. Myers Beach where they have a condo. Some of Joan's happiest days were on the water in their sailboat. Joan was a painter. She did stain glass pictures and enjoyed gardening. She was interested in fashion and was a good seamstress. She made many of her own clothes and her children's clothes when they were younger. She enjoyed decorating and entertaining. She was very proud of her Irish heritage. She left a legacy of enjoying the winter outdoors. Joan is survived by her husband, Chris; daughter, Lynne (Timothy) Moore of Houston; son, Christian (Judee) Rahnke of Arlington, and granddaughters, Emily Moore and Sophia and Hannah Rahnke.
