

Betty Jo Edmondson Adkins, age 98 and resident of Georgetown, Texas since 2013, passed away on February 13, 2026. She was born in Abilene, Texas, where she lived, attended Hardin Simmons University, and worked until her marriage in 1953 to her husband, Tommy.
As a military wife, she traveled to several locations, including a four-year assignment in Japan. Betty and Tommy raised twin sons, Donald and David and a daughter, Cynthia. She was an ardent homemaker for her family and a great southern cook. She was active in social organizations, a master bridge player, enjoyed golf with her friends and traveling the world. After Tommy retired, they enjoyed many years in Biloxi, Mississippi before moving back to Texas and making Georgetown their home.
Betty is survived by son David and wife Betti of Lawrenceville, Georgia, daughter Cynthia Martin and husband David of Georgetown; grandchildren Lindsey, Laura, Derek, Leah and Andrew; great grandchildren Koal, Dante and Bella; and her sister Emogene Adams of Arlington, Texas.
Betty is preceded in death by her son Donald; husband of 70 years, Tommy; parents Frank and Irene and brothers Eugene and Frank.
A private inurnment service will be held by the family at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen on a future date.
