

Brian P. O'Brien, a devoted husband, father, and accomplished professional, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas, following a prolonged decline due to Alzheimer's disease. He was formerly of Illinois and New Jersey.
Brian earned a B.S. in Accounting from Northern Illinois University, followed by an MBA in Finance from Pace University. He later completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University. Over a distinguished 40-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, Brian held leadership roles in finance at Merck & Co., Alcon Laboratories, and Astellas U.S., LLC. His work took him across four continents and more than 35 countries, including a three-year assignment in Switzerland.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Ann Marie, and their two sons: Devin of Austin, Texas, and Ian, with his wife Tish, of Fort Collins, Colorado. He is also survived by his siblings—Michael, Margaret (Boelter) and John—and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip R. and Mary C. O'Brien.
Brian was known for his warmth, wit, and enduring friendships—from high school through his professional life. A lifelong and competitive golfer, he found joy most recently at Teravista Golf Club in Round Rock, Texas.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at noon on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Avery Ranch Golf Club in 10500 Avery Club Dr, Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org or by calling 800-272-3900.
Brian’s funeral will be private and under the arrangements of The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory of Georgetown, Texas.
