

Carmen was born on October 18, 1938, in San Luis de Cordero, Durango, Mexico, to her loving parents, the late Jose Guereca and Fernanda Corral. She married the love of her life, Lucio Lucero, in Dos Palos, California. Together, they built a life centered around family, devotion, and community.
Throughout her life, Carmen was defined by her selfless heart and steadfast dedication to others. She devoted herself to caring for her mother and worked for Levi Strauss. Above all, Carmen worked tirelessly to ensure her children received the education and opportunities they needed to succeed. She was a constant source of encouragement, inspiring those around her to pursue a better life and always offering a helping hand to anyone in need.
In her free time, Carmen enjoyed sewing and crocheting, creating handcrafted pieces filled with love for family and friends. Her spirit of generosity and quiet strength left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Carmen is survived by her beloved husband, Lucio Lucero; her children, Selsa Lerma, Sandra Lucero, Sergio Lucero, and Carmen Varela; and her six cherished grandchildren: Micah Lucero, Eliser Lerma, Lucah Lucero, Cora Alvarado, Seneca Lucero, and Maya Alvarado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Guereca and Fernanda Corral.
