Carolyn Jo Sally Kelley

Carolyn “Sally” Kelley, 80, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on July 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Sally was born on November 12, 1942, to Jesse D. and Ruby L. (Holliman) Ellis in Rockdale, Texas. 

Sally was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved spending time in the kitchen, cooking delicious meals for her family, which often concluded with one of her extraordinary desserts. She was blessed with incredible artistic talents and took on many passions. Sally was known for her extravagant floral arrangements and sewing talents. She was very active in the church community she called home, as a devout member of Round Rock Christian Church for many years. 

Sally married the love of her life, Clifford “Mike” Kelley, on September 15, 1962, and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. After retiring, Sally and Mike enjoyed many road trips across the United States and shared countless memories with family in Hawaii. 

Sally is survived by her husband, Clifford Kelley; two children, Lori Penrose and Jessica Murillo; four grandchildren, Chance Penrose and wife Alexandra, Dalton Penrose, Jenna Murillo and Juliana Murillo; and great-grandchild, Riley Penrose. Her sister, Janice Telg; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Ellis and Gloria Miller; two brothers-in-law, Theo Telg and Carroll Kelley Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Sally is predeceased by her parents, Jesse D. and Ruby L. Ellis, and brother, Leroy Ellis. 

Following her wishes, a celebration of life will be held at 11 AM on August 16th at Round Rock Christian Church.
