Carolyn was born on August 7, 1943, the daughter of Lawrence
Raymond Brown and Helen May Harris of Owego, NY. She is preceded in death by both parents; as well as a daughter, Julie Lynn Pitcher; a son, Warren John Pitcher, and a brother, Raymond Brown.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, John
Wesley Pitcher; a son, Wade Wesley Pitcher and wife Dorothy Sass Pitcher of Kyle, TX; a daughter, Amy Jo Pitcher of Georgetown, TX; a sister, Sharon Ann Brown of Galesburg, IL; grandchildren, Toby Wayne Bonnet, Jr. and wife Andrea Bonnet of Leander, TX, Kathy Lee Jacobson of Brownwood, TX, and Anthony Michael
Pitcher and wife Kiara Pitcher of Maxwell, TX; great-grandchildren, Sterling Lane Hill of Brownwood, TX, Braxton Joel and Greyson Allen Hodges of Brownwood, TX, Ethan Wyatt and Johnathan Wesley Belcher of San Antonio, TX, Cody Wayne
Bonnet of Leander, TX, and Kaiden Pitcher of Maxwell, TX. Carolyn also leaves behind her best friend since elementary school, Myrtle Whitcomb of NY.
Carolyn and her husband John raised their children in Tioga
County, New York, and moved to Cedar Park, Texas in 1980. Carolyn devoted her life to God, as well as being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a beautiful soul who was always willing to help others.
Carolyn became a Medical Assistant and worked for an OBGYN
in Austin, Texas for many years. She became very involved in Emmaus and Kiros Christian Movements. She attended Oblate University of San Antonio, Texas, where she gained a degree in Spirituality. She worked with several Methodist Church pastors, preaching when called upon. She was also a chaplain for hospice.
In the early 2000s, she became unable to follow her passions
for helping the needy due to physical ailments. In 2011 she began to show signs of dementia, and would later be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Carolyn lived her last 9 years in a long-term facility.
Carolyn was a god-fearing woman who was full of grace and
love. She loved her family, and cared for them and for every person she met.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Carolyn’s life at
2:00 pm on Friday, October 2, 2026 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Carolyn Pitcher encourages loved ones to make a contribution in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
