

Clyde Martin Christiansen, age 69, of Georgetown, Texas passed away February 13, 2008 in the loving arms of his beloved wife, with his children at his bedside. He was born on April 15, 1938 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Charles Gustav Christiansen and Serena Haleen Rasmussen Christiansen. On June 5, 1959 he married Phyllis (Rowley) Christiansen. He served in the US Army as a counterintelligence agent from 1960 to 1965 with Honorary Discharge, finishing his service in Berlin, Germany. Clyde served as Risk Manager for Memorial Hospital System before retirement. Clyde was kind, generous, compassionate, and always enjoyed a good joke or prank. He enjoyed a passion for classic cars and spent many hours at car shows and restoring his own cars in his workshop. He loved serving others, especially the homeless. He has traveled extensively with his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Clyde was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and along with Phyllis served in the Family History Center. Clyde Christiansen is survived by his wife; daughters, Carole Christiansen of Sandy Utah, Marti Christiansen of Georgetown, Texas; son Wade and his wife Kathleen Christiansen of Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Cory and his wife Katie Smith, Ashley Smith, Nicole Smith, Kevin Christiansen, Jason Christiansen, Katie Christiansen, Brian Christiansen, Sarah Christiansen, and Joseph Martin Christiansen; brothers, Dean Christiansen of Ogden, Utah, Gail Christiansen of Salt Lake City, Utah and a sister Carol Olsen of Manti, Utah, and many cousins. Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, brother Arden Christiansen, and granddaughter Samantha Smith. Visitation will be held on Sunday February 17, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Gabriel’s Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday February 18, 2008 at the Gabriel’s Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Texas. Burial will take place at IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Wade Christiansen, Kevin Christiansen, Brian Christiansen, Jason Christiansen, Cory Smith, Guy Taylor, Karl Jung, Jim Pate and Steve Randall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any charitable organization that serves the homeless.
