Dan is the son of Joni McGee of Fort Stockton, Texas and Daniel Harcourt of Indiana. Dan was born in Perth, Western Australia on August 22, 1978.
Dan spent much of his career in the service industry, whether it was in food and bar or working for local good will foundations. He started his entrepreneurial venture as a voice over actor specializing in commercials, books, and video game/cartoon voices. He found a hobby later in his life with woodworking.
Dan has made many friends all over Texas, the country, and the world. His kind hearted nature was his most enduring characteristic. He was loving son, a loyal brother and friend, and had a fighting spirit. His willpower beat cancer, but his body couldn’t keep up with his own determinations to win.
Dan surrounded himself with people he loved and he never met anyone that he didn’t like (unless they had reservations with his family). He enjoyed congregated activities and hanging out at local establishments. He loved trivia, karaoke, football (49ers Fan), movies and poker. He was a self-proclaimed nerd with an enthusiasm for fantasy/sci-fi, DnD and Anime.
Dan’s memorial would include a deserving ritual of a Viking dragon boat shot by a flaming arrow as it plunges down a dramatic waterfall. Apparently, there are some legal ramifications to that, and it turns out funeral pyres are only legal in Colorado. Therefore, he will have to be legally cremated as per his wishes at The Gabriel’s Funeral Home and we will have a celebration of life at “The Barn,” 1070 County Road 129, Taylor, Tx 76574 on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at 1900.
Dan is survived by his mother Joni McGee, his brother Derrick Harcourt and his brother’s children Kayla, Emma and Rocket Harcourt. He is also survived by his sister Jessica Harcourt and her children Sydney Henderson and Aubrie Bortle.
Dan’s family can accept condolences at 319 Edmond St, Taylor, Texas 76574.
