David George Edwards

David was born to James Frank Edwards and Janis Marilyn Tucker Edwards on December 13, 1966 in Killeen Texas. He attended Florence schools from kindergarten through graduation in 1985.  

David started his working career at the Florence Grain and Feed.  David had a special interest in tractors and machinery.  He worked summers plowing and harvesting in several states.  He went to work for Delta Airlines and then American Airlines.  This career started in Austin, took him to Dallas, then to Denver and eventually back home to Austin.  His career with American Airlines lasted for 28 years.  His last assignment with American was as a Crew Chief in Automotive/Facilities, doing what he loved, working on machinery.  David made many friends during his career that lasted a lifetime.  He will be remembered for his quick wit and generosity.  He never met a stranger and always had a funny story to tell. In his travels, he enjoyed visiting the mountains of Colorado where he loved to ski.  

He is preceded in death by his mother, Janis Edwards and Father, James Frank Edwards.

He is survived by his sister Jana Busby and husband Mike Busby of Waco, TX, Sister DeNay Irons and husband Mark Irons of Austin, TX, and brother Donald Edwards and wife Wanda Edwards of Far West, Utah.  Nephews Wacey Hoyle of Iola, Tx, Hudson Edwards of Far West, Utah, nieces Maegan Wenberg of McGregor, TX, Jacqueline Barkelew of Ogden, UT, Jessica Tisi of Mesa, AZ and many great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of David’s life will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel at 393 N. IH 35, Georgetown, TX, Visitation on Friday, October 4, at 11am with service following at 12 noon.
