Donald Jay Neal

Donald Jay Neal, 65 of Georgetown, TX passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012. A service celebrating Don’s life was held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 5:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, 78628. Don was born April 23, 1946 in Covington, Kentucky to the late Robert and Ottie Wright Neal. As a child, Don and his family moved around the United States, with the Air Force. When his father retired from the military their family settled in Greenville, Texas, where Don graduated Senior High School. Don served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. He went on to attend LVN school in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Don worked passionately as an LVN from about 1969 until his retirement about 15 years ago. After his retirement Don, continued working for AARP and H&R Block preparing taxes. Don married Peggy Joe Kiefer on November 28, 2009 in Bossier City, Louisiana. They moved to Georgetown in July of 2010. Together they attended, Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown. Don was known for his leather crafting, his family will cherish the many gifts he tooled for them with his loving hands. Don leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Peggy Joe Neal; his twin sister, Donna Johnson and her husband Gerald; and sisters, Barbara Hastings and Sue Shokey; stepdaughter, Barbara Ludkyte and her husband Lyle; stepson, Jimmy Franks and his wife Hilda; step grandchildren, Anna Ulmer, Seth Franks, and Daniel Franks; along with numerous nieces and nephews and other loving friends.
