Donald E Richmond

Donald Edward Richmond, 85, passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2019. Don was born April 21, 1933 to Clifford and Helen Richmond in Syracuse, New York. He is survived by his loving wife Joan, children Cynthia Richmond, Janice (Ed) Valdez, Peggy Richmond, Michael (Denyse) Richmond and stepchildren Robert (Angela) Ryan, Cathy Ryan, Deborah (Martin) Samuelson, Robin (Mark) Beatty and Alan McCombs.

Don retired from the United States Air Force and was awarded the Bronze Star during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, Don worked 42 years in the test department at Westinghouse in Round Rock, Texas.

Don moved to Weir, Texas in 1980. Don loved living in Weir and was instrumental in the formation and growth of the Weir Volunteer Fire Department. In 2017, Don and Joan moved to Temple, Texas and enjoyed many adventures together during the last few years.

Visitation will take place Friday, April 12, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 N. IH-35, Georgetown, Texas. Graveside services to follow immediately at the Weir Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Weir Volunteer Fire Department.
