Donnie Peterson

Donnie was born May 30th, 1953, to Marvin Kermit Peterson and Ethel Jaunitta Peterson in Georgetown, Texas. He was raised in Austin, Texas alongside his sister Bonnie. In his younger years, he spent many hours with his horses attending playdays and roping events. Donnie graduated from Lanier High School in 1972. Donnie became a father to his girls, Jennifer and Stephanie in his early 20’s. He was an amazing “Girl Dad”, and he had many stories he loved to tell from those days.   

In 1987, Donnie married his wife, LaDonna. LaDonna and Donnie added their son Duston in 1990. Soon after they would make the town of Jarrell their home. Donnie became a member of the Jarrell Volunteer Fire Department where he served as the Assistant Chief for many years. Donnie enjoyed his time with the Jarrell Community and made a lasting impression on many.

Donnie began his career in carpentry before even finishing high school while working alongside his dad at NPC, in Austin. Years later he would establish Peterson Carpentry where he shared his craft with his son Duston. Donnie made many lifelong friendships during his career. He considered most of these friends part of his family. 

Donnie was known for his contagious laugh and ability to light up a room at any given moment. He was one of the most generous, hard-working, and selfless men most have ever met. Unconditional love was something he gave to many, including all his special pets over the years.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Jaunitta, as well as his first wife, Beverly Wilkes Peterson. 

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, LaDonna Peterson, daughters Jennifer Williams and husband Tommy, Stephanie Ware and husband Ivan, and Son Duston Peterson and wife Sara; grandchildren Chelsea Byers and husband Garrett, Jackson Martin, Tanner Ware, Reagan Martin, Owen Peterson, Abel Peterson, Stella Peterson, and Willa Peterson; great-grandchild Ryker Byers; sister Bonnie Hammett and husband Danny; along with many other beloved family members both with two legs and four. 

Pastor Max Johnson will be officiating the graveside services where all are welcome.
