Edward Glenn Cline

Edward Glenn Cline, lovingly known as “Opa” to many, passed away at the age of 90, on Thursday, November 10, 2011 with his family at his side. A memorial service celebrating Edward’s life will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 12:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, Texas. Edward was born June 18, 1921 in Atascosa County, Texas. He spent most of his life in the San Antonio and surrounding areas. Edward endured a lot at a young age, losing his mother in 1928 at the age of seven, he was bounced around for many years but his strong character gave him the will to overcome. After high school, Edward joined the Army Air Corp and served his country proudly in the South Pacific during WWII. Upon returning from war Edward took a job with Gulf Oil in Venezuela where he lived for 11 years. Then upon returning state-side, Edward attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College where he received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration. On April the 12th of 1957 in San Marcus, TX, Edward married the love of his life, Juliana Rubenbauer. Edward worked at Kelly Air Force Base for over 37 years, most of his career in the Directorate of Small Business Administration. He was a long time member of the Sons of Hermann Grand Lodge #174.2. Over the years, he enjoyed yard work and gardening. Edward loved to “tinker” with things and enjoyed the thrill of fixing things that were broken. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. Opa to those who knew and loved him, his spirit and strong will and his fixing nature will be truly missed by everyone. Edward is preceded in death by his mother, Verna Cline and his wife of over 51 years, Juliana Rubenbauer Cline. Edward leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Ed Cline and his wife Melissa of Round Rock, and Juli Aghamoosa and her husband Amir of Orono, ME; his grandchildren, Vincent Cline and his wife Tracy, Army Capt. Travis Cline and his wife Kristle, Andrew Rhyne, Lauren Rhyne, Mostapha Aghamoosa and his wife Lynn, Mehdi Aghamoosa, Hosain Aghamoosa, and Rose Aghamoosa; one great grandchild, Kaden Cline and one more on the way in February 2012, Dallas Cline; along with numerous other loving extended family and friends.
