

Eldon Boyd Hobbs, of Georgetown, TX, passed away on August 30th, 2026. He was born in Lubbock, TX. Eldon is preceded in death by Mary Hobbs, his wife of 67 years. He is survived by his sister Julia Grisham and husband Charles of Temple, TX; his sons Michael Hobbs and wife Giuli Coniglio of Maryville, MO; Douglas Hobbs of Pflugerville, TX; David Hobbs and wife Cynthia of Levelland, TX; Richard Hobbs and wife Jennifer of Lostine, OR; daughter Denise Tolbert and husband Scott of Jarrell, TX; and daughter-in-law Elaine Hobbs of Georgetown, TX. He is also survived by grandchildren Giannino and Lorenzo Coniglio; Justin Hobbs and wife Leslie; Travis Hobbs and wife Michelle; Audra Hobbs; Lindsay Carr and husband Chris; Rebecca Chambers and husband Elliott; Sebastian, Foster, and Emrys Hobbs; Nicole Briones and husband Johnathan; Ethan Tolbert and fiancé Gabriella Bond; along with eight great-grandchildren - Gavin, Titus, and Wren Carr; Harrison and Everett Chambers; Everly Hobbs; and Piper and Jenna Hobbs.
Eldon was a long-time resident of Lubbock, then moved to Georgetown in 1983. He worked as a salesman, manager, and owner in the printing industry. He was a long-time member of the Georgetown Sertoma Club and attended local churches: First Presbyterian and St. John’s United Methodist. He was an avid runner and ran several marathons as well as enjoying the occasional golf game with his sons. Prior to and post-retirement he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing games and doing puzzles.
There will be a private family celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be sent to Stonehaven Senior Center of Georgetown TX (He loved the time he spent there socializing and playing games), Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, or The Caring Place of Georgetown.
