Elvia Garcia "Sylvia" Castillo

Elvia Garcia Castillo, lovingly known to most as "Sylvia", 56 of Georgetown, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 after a long courageous battle with illness. Sylvia's family will gather for visitation and prayer service on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown. A service of celebration and thanksgiving will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00AM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, Georgetown. Interment will follow at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery. Honoring Sylvia serving, as pallbearers will be Rudy Garcia, Bobby Barrera, Eric Munoz, Eddie Garcia, Tony Garcia, and James Guajardo. Sylvia was born on August 14, 1957 in Robstown, TX to the late Joe G., Sr. and Lola Sarasua Garcia. Sylvia married the love of her life, Severo "Chico" Castillo, Jr. on August 21, 1987. Sylvia had a strong faith in the Lord and loved to share her story about Christ in her life with all her friends and family. She enjoyed reading the Bible, spending time with family and working in her flower gardens. Those that knew and loved Sylvia will cherish her kindness, the loving caring person she was, her humor and how she tried to live her life as Christ taught to live. Sylvia leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 27 years, Severo Castillo, Jr., her eleven brothers and sisters, Elias Guajardo and his wife Maria Louisa, Benjamin Guajardo and his wife Gloria, Paul Guajardo, Ofelia Guajardo, Daniel Garcia and his wife Adelia, Raymond Garcia and his wife Carolyn, Joe Garcia, Jr. and his wife Esther, Alex Garcia, Esther Barrera and husband Felix, Rosie Garcia, Janie Munoz and husband Johnny; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
