

She was born in Sweetwater, Florida to Tillie and Ray Hodges. Shewas raised in Hialeah, Florida. She was married to Bill “T” Taylor for nearly 43 years. They metin Las Vegas and were married at Garden of the Gods in Colorado. He preceded her in deathalong with her parents, younger brother, Joe, and step-daughter, Christina. Joy (what familycalled her) is survived by her sister, Pat and her husband, Randy, her brother, Bill and his wife,Anita. She is also survived by nieces - Dawn Davis, Jackie Murphy, Diane Popps and AudreyBurr- Nephews- Darrell Davis, Donald Davis and Jonathan Hodges. There are also cousins andgreat nieces and nephews. She was a very special woman who will be missed by so many!
She was an adventurer and she lived from coast to coast - North Carolina, Florida andCalifornia, Texas, Colorado, Nevada and Tennessee. She was in the army helping deliverbabies, owned a hair salon, worked in food service and more. Her talents and stories wereendless! She loved animals and spoiled every single one she ever met!
In August of 2022, Joyce went in for a scan for what she thought might be kidney stones.Unfortunately, that was not the case and she got a second cancer diagnosis. She’d kicked itsbutt before, so she was determined to do it again. Watching her strength, determination andcourage through her fight was an inspiration to many. We are all better off for knowing her!
