

Gracie Lee (Sorrell) Pate, of Georgetown, Texas, was born July 3, 1923 in Henly, Texas, to the late Loyd Jacob Sorrell and Lois Kelly Sorrell, and passed from this life, on January 1, 2019 at age 95 in Georgetown, Texas.
Gracie was the loving wife of Lloyd Douglas Pate who preceded her in death in 2006, after 64 years of marriage . She was also preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Lois, three brothers - Talmadge Martin Sorrell; Ernest Gerald Sorrell; Lloyd Joyce Sorrell; a sister, Betty Jo Sorrell; and daughter-in-law, Peggy Damron Pate.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Pate and Kenneth Pate and wife Jeannie; one daughter, Debra Glass and husband, Samuel (Bud) Glass,III; Seven grandchildren: Neva Pate Dalessandro, Larry Dean Pate, Christopher Pate, Nicole Pate, Scott Pate, Jacy Warwick, Brett Warwick, and various spouses; as well as ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.
Gracie loved all kinds of crafts, and was always pursuing some type of needlework, including knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting. She also loved to travel, and as an Army family, Gracie, Doug and the children got to do a lot of that over the years, traveling to many states across this country, as well as living in Japan, Alaska, Alabama, Virginia, Louisiana, Wisconsin and Texas.
Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral service, officiated by Bill Powell, on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 10am to 11:00am at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 393 North IH-35, Georgetown, Texas, 78628.
A graveside service will follow at 1pm that afternoon at Phillips Cemetery in Dripping Springs, Texas for family and friends in that community.
