Herbert “Fred” Sullivan, 71 of Florence, died October 10, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the funeral home. Fred was born in Austin on February 7, 1936 to Herbert L. and Irene A. (Friedrich) Sullivan. The family moved to Georgetown when he was six years old. Fred attended school in the Georgetown school system, graduating from Georgetown High School. He went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree form Southwestern, and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. Fred served in the Army being discharged out of Ft. Hood. He moved about the southern states setting up retail stores for a major chain. Fred returned to Georgetown in 1976 where he was active in civic organizations. His spare time was spent hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Fred was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory a son; Slade Sullivan of Georgetown.
