Jessie Merle Cole Martin

Jessie Merle Cole Martin “Sissie”, daughter of Jesse (Jack) Cole and Kate Mitchele Cole, was born in Walburg, Texas on August 31, 1916. She passed away peacefully at her home in Georgetown, Texas on March 14, 2016. She was 99 years young and a life-long resident of Georgetown.

The Cole’s settled in Jonah in 1896 and later came to Georgetown. She was a retired Dental Assistant working for Dr. Patterson for 48 years and then Dr. Casey and Dr. Williams, all in Georgetown. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Tommy Cole, and long-time partner Woodrow W. Southworth “Woody”, all of her aunts, uncles and cousins.

All of her family was waiting on her and she was ready to be with them again. The younger generation of second cousins and her friends love her very much and will miss her and her feisty nature. We love you Sissie. She will be laid to rest with a graveside service at I.O.O.F. Cemetery on March 23, 2016 at 10:00AM with Linda Gwathmey officiating. The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in-charge of the arrangements.
