John “Jack” Daniel Penniman was born July 13, 1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and when to be with the Lord on August 18, 2010 in Georgetown, Texas. He grew up in San Diego California where he met and married Margaret Elfreda Schrank on August 6, 1944. Both were working at aircraft factories in that area. He later joined the US Army to serve during World War II. After the war, they moved to Central Texas where Jack went to work for the Frito/Lay Company as a salesman. He was well known around Georgetown as the Frito Man. After retiring from Frito Lay, he worked for the Georgetown ISD as a school bus driver for ten more years before finally retiring. He may best be remembered for his love of old cars. He always seemed to have a stockpile of old cars that he had restored. He made many friends through his various car club memberships, both locally and nationally and he will surely be missed by those friends. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Margaret E. Penniman and son David Allen Penniman. He is survived by his daughter, Pam Anderson and her husband, Lyndon of Georgetown, granddaughters, Shelly Vasquez and her husband, Rudy of Georgetown, and Laura Howard and her husband, Rick of San Angelo, grandsons John Penniman and his wife, Camille of Irving, and Michael Penniman of Ashville, North Carolina, daughter in law Lin Waters, of Fort Collins, Colorado, one brother, George Penniman of El Cajon, California, and seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
