Judy Ruth Boyd Tasto

Judy Ruth Tasto, 94 of Georgetown, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009 with her family at her side. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH35, Georgetown, Texas. A service celebration Judy’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 2:00 PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown. Judy, a native of Williamson County, was born on October 8, 1915 in Walburg, Texas to the late Thurmon and Flora Mankins Boyd. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Benson; her sister, Margie Boyd Yoder; and her brother, Bethel Boyd. Judy worked numerous jobs in her 94 years, from waitressing down on 6th street in Austin during the 1930’s, working in the hosiery mill, to owning and operating Bussy’s Resale Shop in New Braunfels. She lived in the New Braunfels area for over 30 years until she moved back to Georgetown in 1989. Judy loved gardening and plants; she enjoyed bowling on several bowling leagues through the years. She loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas. Judy’s joy in life though was her family, spending time with her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Judy leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Dennis Stephens and his wife Dottie of Temple; sisters, Esther Charters and Mary Grumbles; grandchildren, Troy Stephens and his wife Marie, Chris Stephens, Kevin Stephens, Robert Mathieson, Keith Schalther, and Nicole Hendrickson and her husband Wes; great grandchildren, Collin Stephens, Kara Stephens, Cody Stephens, Brynly Stephens, Amanda Schalther, Brittany Schalther, Devin Hendrickson, Kalynn Hendrickson, Kelsey Hendrickson, and Jewel Hendrickson; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
