

Louis Bennett Hardeman, 79, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Georgetown on September 14, 2015. He was born on January 15, 1936 in Wichita Falls, TX to Thelma (Strealy) and LD Hardeman who both preceded him in death. While attending Midwestern State University, he met Cleona Mullins and they were married on June 9, 1960. He had a long and successful career with State Farm Insurance and retired in 1998. He was ordained as a deacon at the age of 26 and for the last forty-two years was a faithful servant and deacon at Crestview Baptist Church up until his passing. Louis loved music and was part of the band at Midwestern State University, served as a music director and sang in various choirs and groups throughout his life. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cleona Hardeman; daughter Thelayna (Hardeman) Robertson and husband Randy, son Blayne Hardeman and wife Felicia, both living in Georgetown. The loves of his life were his grandchildren, Ashlynn Bostick, Calista Hardeman, Victoria Hardeman and Wyatt Hardeman. He leaves behind one sister, Donna Allen in Bowie. Visitation will be Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 6pm-8pm at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Burial will be Friday morning at IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown at 10am and a celebration of life at Crestview Baptist Church at 1:00 pm Friday afternoon.
