Margaret Gardner

Margaret “Peggy” Gardner, 86, of Fort Worth, Texas went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 29, 2007. She was born in Shelby, North Carolina on July 7, 1920. Peggy later married Bill Gardner on March 26, 1944, who preceded her in death in 2003. They lived in Georgetown, Texas for 49 years, where they were charter members of Crestview Baptist Church and were later members of Hyde Park Baptist in Austin. Throughout her life her church, family, and many friends were very important to her. She also served her community by volunteering at Georgetown Hospital. Peggy is survived by her son Lee Gardner of Montgomery, Texas; daughter, Jane and son-in-law, Mike Dukes of Fort Worth; 8 grandchildren; Tim Dukes, Danny Dukes, Stephanie Dukes, John Dukes, Michelle Dukes, Jessica Sandoval, Katy Gardner and Clayton Gardner, and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Bill Cabaniss of Dallas, TX and Joe Cabaniss of Shelby, North Carolina. Services will be held at Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, May 1, 2007, from 6:00-8:00 PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to Mattie Loventhal Christian Education Scholarship Fund through Crestview Baptist Church, 2300 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628.
