Margie Lee Holmes

Margie Holmes went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 23, 1939, in Austin, Texas, to Litten and Edna Pierce, Margie spent most of her life in Austin before later making her home in Georgetown.

On June 11, 1955, she married the love of her life, Haskel Holmes. Together they built a life centered on family, and making memories. Some of their happiest times were spent at “Turkey Tree” on Lake Travis, where weekends were filled with fishing, swimming and skiing with laughter, and time with family and friends.

Margie worked in advertising for many years and took pride in her work. Outside of work, she enjoyed country music and dancing. She was known to turn on her favorite songs and dance around the house. In earlier years, Haskel would often join her, creating memories their family still cherishes today.

Margie truly never met a stranger and was known for her warm heart and joyful spirit. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She found comfort and friendship through her church family at Crestview Baptist Church, where she enjoyed volunteering and serving others. She often said that after joining Crestview, she was living her life for the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Haskel Holmes, and daughters, Brenda and Deborah.

She is survived by her son, Brian Holmes and wife Debbie of Llano; daughter, Beverly Evans and husband James of Cedar Park; three grandchildren, Jimmy Lee Bartz Jr. and wife Dena, Brian Evans and wife Daniella, Brittany Evans, and six Great-Grandchildren and three Great-Great Grandchildren as well as numerous other family members and friends. In lieu of flowers please make donations to her church, Crestview Baptist Church, Georgetown, TX in her memory.
