Mary Ann Roberts

Mary Ann Roberts, 66, of Georgetown entered into rest on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in a local hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born January, 12, 1946 to Arthur Lee, Sr. and Nadine Alvina (Sutter) Pope in Taylor, TX. Mary dearly loved her family, playing cards and visiting with her loved ones every chance she got. She was fond of listening to country music. Mary was always careful about her appearance, she never had a hair out of place. Her family remarked that you could never get Mary to be anywhere in the mornings because she would not leave the house until her hair and makeup were perfect. She kept her home in the same meticulous manner. Mary was a very loving mother and a proud grandmother, she will be missed by all. Mary is preceded in death by her father; and her brother, Arthur Lee Pope, Jr. She is survived by her son, Mark Browder of Georgetown; companion, Jimmy Owen of Georgetown; mother, Nadine Pope of Georgetown; brothers and sisters, Bobby Pope and wife Betty of Georgetown, Dorothy and husband Leonard Heathington of Granbury, Glenda and husband Denis Poulos of Georgetown, Marvin Pope and companion Brenda Joy of New Braunfels, Dale Pope and wife Pam of Georgetown, and Sandy and husband David Braswell of Walburg; grandchildren, Tyler Browder, Gunner Linhart, Brodee Browder, Stormee Browder, Trent Samford, and Paula Samford; one great-grandchild, Brightyn, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Georgetown. A service to celebrate Mary’s life and faith will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the funeral chapel with Pastor Don Gurney officiating. Interment will follow in IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown. Honoring her memory as pallbearers will be: Michael Heathington, Steven Heathington , Logan Pope, Scott Pope, Stephen Brast, Tommy Pope, Jason Pope, Greg Shelton, and Geoffrey Shelton.
