Born on March 4, 1952, to Joseph and Miriam Hadley, Michael lived a life defined by unwavering faith, dedicated service, and a deep love for his family and community. A proud veteran, he faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force, both on Active Duty and in the United States Air Force Reserves. Committed to the value of education, Michael earned a Master of Arts in Education from Southwest Texas State University in 1990. Following his military service, he devoted his career to education, where he inspired and encouraged countless students throughout the years.
For more than five decades, Michael was a faithful member of Promiseland Church (World of Pentecost), where he worshiped from 1975 until his passing. His commitment to ministry extended far beyond the walls of the church. He faithfully served as a Prison Ministry Pastor, sharing the hope of Christ with incarcerated individuals, and as an Angel Tree Coordinator, bringing love and joy to children and families during the Christmas season. His life was a testimony of servant leadership and unwavering devotion to God.
Michael was an entrepreneur, a man of deep conviction, and someone who lived each day with purpose. He was known for his compassion, wisdom, generosity, and steadfast faith. Whether offering encouragement, lending a helping hand, or praying for someone in need, he consistently placed others before himself. He found great joy in reading, watching sports, and enthusiastically discussing the latest games with family and friends. His conversations, laughter, and words of wisdom will be deeply missed.
Above all, Michael cherished his family. He leaves to celebrate his life and treasure his memory his beloved wife, Hattie Marie Hadley; his children, Charles Morris, Melody Rutherford (Mark), Gina Wright (Sharnell), and Alexis Hadley (Marcus); and his cherished grandchildren, Briajah, Mark Anthony, Zaeden, DeShaun, Jada, Paulino, Christian, Giana, Ashten, and great-grandchildren, Kyree and Alani.
He also leaves behind his special sister-in-law, Mary Curtis; his special nieces, Patricia Curtis, Nicole Baker (Isaac), and Kay Labee (Mark Anthony); along with a host of brother and sister-in-laws, beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by his love and example.
Michael’s legacy is one of faith, service, integrity, and unconditional love. He demonstrated what it means to live a life fully surrendered to God and dedicated to serving others. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, his impact will continue to be felt through the countless lives he influenced, the family he loved so dearly, and the enduring example of faith he leaves behind.
