

Michael served in the Air Force for 4 years. He was stationed at Austin Bergstrom Air Force Base where he found his love for Texas.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents George and Charlotte Walsh; sisters Helen Piemonte and Virginia Ruff, brother George Walsh, and granddaughter Ashley. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nancy Walsh of 25 years; his brother Johnny Walsh, his sisters Kathy Adolph, Margaret Williams, Patty Duck, and Mary Evans. His 6 children, Joe, Mark, Laura Walsh (Jon), Charlotte Goertz (Chris), Melissa Schaefer (Matt), and Blake Jones; his 11 grandchildren, Morgan, Ty, Caleb, Tatum, Devin, Hannah, Madison, Noah, McKenzie, Autumn and Mabree, his 5 great-grandchildren, Ja’veon, Ma’Kiah, Adaline, Rosalie, and Nash; along with 23 nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Joe Walsh, Mark Walsh, Blake Jones, Devin Walsh, Noah Goertz, Caleb Walsh, and Ty Walsh. Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Schaefer and Jon McClain.
Michael loved spending time with his grandchildren. They will miss his early morning calls, asking if they have eaten breakfast yet. At family gatherings, he could be found at the dominoes table playing “just one more game.” He loved baseball, cards, reading, fishing, and camping. Michael and his wife Nancy loved to travel but above all, they loved spending time with their family, especially their grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 20th from 5-7 pm with the Rosary beginning at 7 pm at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, TX. Funeral services will be on Monday, August 21st at 1:00 pm at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hutto, TX. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown, TX.
