Michelle “Shelly” Dannette Flores-Valenzuela, 59, of Cedar Park, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026.
Michelle was born on May 28, 1967, in Austin, Texas, to Alfred Flores Jr. and Alicia Hathaway. She grew up in the Austin area, graduated from what was then Reagan High School, and attended The University of Texas at Austin for a short time. She spent many years working for Austin Regional Clinic as a Patient Services Coordinator, where she formed countless friendships and touched the lives of many patients and coworkers through her warmth, humor, and caring spirit.
On May 13, 1995, Michelle married Carlos Michael Valenzuela-Durr, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Michael deeply cherished her and loved her with all his heart. They shared more than 30 years of marriage.
After 9/11, Michael re-entered active duty in 2002, and Michelle stepped away from her career to become a full-time Army wife and stay-at-home mom. The family relocated to Fort Lee, Virginia, while Michael attended the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course (CLC3). In 2003, they moved overseas to South Korea with their three children, where Michelle embraced the opportunity to experience a new culture, travel, and create lasting memories with her family. Those years remained some of her most cherished adventures.
In 2007, the family returned home to Cedar Park, Texas, and Michael medically retired from service in October 2010. Michelle resumed her career at Austin Regional Clinic, where she created many more lasting friendships.
Shelly will be remembered for her vibrant personality, quick wit, unwavering honesty, and deep love for family and friends. She had a gift for making people laugh and never hesitated to speak her mind. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, experimenting with new makeup looks, and wandering through Home Depot in search of plants and flowers to brighten her home and garden.
Michelle is survived by her loving mother, Alicia Hathaway; her father, Alfred Flores Jr.; her devoted husband, Carlos Michael Valenzuela-Durr; her children, Danielle (Derek) Moore, Carlos Nikolaus Valenzuela-Flores, and Zoe Nicole Valenzuela-Flores; her brother, Gregory Flores; and her beautiful grandchildren, Riley, Ryan, and Raddix Moore, who affectionately referred to her as Mamacita.
She was preceded in death by her beloved stepfather, Lenard Hathaway; her infant daughter, Gabrielle “Gigi” Valenzuela-Flores; her grandparents; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members.
Michelle's love, laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

15 Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. 16 ‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’ nor any scorching heat. 17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”
