

MYRTLE B. JENNINGS FAUBION Myrtle B. Faubion passed away 12/20/08 -- at the age of 94 years. She was a member in good standing at Union Hall Baptist Church in Liberty Hill. She was born May 1, 1914 to Andy & Rona Roberts Jennings, on the Old Bottoms Ranch in Liberty Hill, Texas. She was a fourth generation Native Texan. Myrtle B. married Roscoe Faubion, 12/24/33 in Bertram. They spent their early married life ranching and farming on the Lucky Hit Ranch in Leander. In 1940 they moved to Cedar Park where they owned and operated the Faubion Grocery Store and Post Office for many years. In 1958 they moved to Leander to take over the operation of the Faubion family farm & ranch. They sold this property in 1972, and were able to retire early and enjoyed living on the lake, and traveling. Myrtle B. enjoyed having beautiful plants, which she cared for daily. Among other things she enjoyed were sewing, hunting and fishing, and her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed providing meals for her family, nephews, nieces and friends. These meals usually consisted of vegetables that she had grown in her garden, and meat from deer that she had hunted. Myrtle B. was a lady. She dressed nicely, wore her jewelry and her hair was always done. She was always ready to go anywhere at anytime. She enjoyed life to the fullest. In November 2007 she, as the oldest living member of Union Hall Baptist Church, along with two of her cousins, took part in the ground breaking ceremony of the new Roberts Educational Annex, which is named in honor of their grandparents. Myrtle B. spent the last five years living at New Hope Manor Nursing Home. The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care that was provided to her. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andy & Rona Jennings, her husband, Roscoe, to whom she was married for 69 years and 10 months, four brothers, Gerald, Sam, Melvin, & J. B. Jennings and one sister, Irene Jennings Duckett. Myrtle B. is survived by son, Morris Faubion and wife Jan of Round Rock, daughter, Rona Israel of Liberty Hill. one grandson, Robert Faubion of Austin and three granddaughters, Julia Hedgpeth and husband Clint of Highland Village, Kimberley Israel of Cedar Park and Jennifer Israel of Rockport. She is also survived by great grandchildren Jake and Gracie Hedgpeth of Highland Village and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Clint Hedgpeth, Charles Connors, Bobby Forbes, Jerry Jennings, Mike Jennings and Wayne Jennings. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, December 22, 2008 at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Services are under the direction of Gabriels Funeral Home with Bro. Stephen Vaughn officiating. Services will be Tuesday, December 23rd at 2:00 PM, followed by burial at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander.
