Nicholas William Gill

Nicholas William Gill, lovingly known as "Nick", 78 of Georgetown, passed away onSaturday, August 17, 2013with his family at his side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 23rd at St. Mary's Cathedral Catholic Church in Cheyenne,Wyoming. Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Nick was born on Christmas Day in 1934 in Lander, Wyoming to the late Frank Joseph and Genevieve Dolan Gill. Nick was 10 years of age when his family moved to Cheyenne, he completed his high school education at St. Mary's Catholic School. Nick served in the Wyoming Air National Guard and achieved his Bachelor's Degree from University of Wyoming. Nick married the love of his life, Leona Mae Stanush on September 1, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas. Nick started Gill window Company in 1988, where he and his sons manufactured and installed vinyl windows. His sons took over the business when he retired in 2002. Nick and Leona were active members at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cheyenne and most recently at St. Helen Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus with St. Mary's Cathedral. Nick was an avid golfer and very active in the Cheyenne community before moving to Georgetown in 2006. Nick was involved with Cheyenne Frontier Days, the Elks Lodge in Cheyenne, the Airport Golf Club and the Cheyenne Country Club. Nick's family was his passion, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Genevieve Gill, his son, Kevin Joseph Gill in 2009, and numerous brothers and sisters. Nick leaves behind his loving wife, Leona Gill of Georgetown, TX; his sister Joanne Bogus of Cheyenne , his children, Mike Gill and his love of 20 years Michelle Boltz of Cheyenne, WY and Missy Gill of Pflugerville, TX; and his grandchildren, Clancy and Alexandra Gill of Laramie, WY; along with a host of other loving family and friends.
