A life worth living. Paula Jean Delahoussaye – Bru born on September 13, 1947 in Mamou Louisiana and adopted by Frank and Bobby Delahoussaye passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 2, 2020.
Paula grew up in Port Arthur Texas and found the love of her life that would eventually become her husband, confidant and partner in crime of 54 years, Gerald Bru. She is survived by her husband Gerald, and three children, Jerry of Eden Prairie MN (Wife, Isabel Zeman), Terry of Round Rock, TX, and Wendi Patrolia of Round Rock TX (Husband, Scott). Paula showered her love, affection, and kindness for every person she ever met, and deeply loved her four grandchildren, Chris, Andrea, Tyler and Trent. She is also survived by her brother Terry Delahoussaye (Wife Gina), and countless half brothers and sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
An educator of nearly 30 years, Paula was intent on ensuring every person she worked with would come away from her lessons with confidence. She truly loved the “light Bulb” moments with her students. The lives she influenced with her calm presence and ever patience is immeasurable.
In her later years, Paula along with Gerald travelled the country, seeking life’s great adventure as they would call it. Along the way, they would leave an indelible mark of kindness and love for every person they met.
Her journey, her bright light that shines in all she influenced will never be forgotten. Paula’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all that love her.
Travel in peace mom. We love you.
