Richard “Rick” Allan Robinson, age 76, of Cedar Park, Texas, passed away on March 24, 2025. A proud veteran, devoted public servant, and deeply cherished family man, Rick lived a life marked by service, love, and quiet reflection.
Rick was born on April 20, 1948, in Princeville, Illinois, to Lillian and Floyd Robinson. He graduated from Princeville High School in 1966 and went on to earn his Associates degree in Accounting from Midstate College of Commerce in Peoria, Illinois, in 1969.
Soon after, Rick answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army. He served with honor as a Military Policeman in Frankfurt, Germany, where he was stationed for a year alongside his spouse, Patricia Burns Robinson. During his time in the service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Following his military service, Rick embarked on a lifelong career in public service. He dedicated 34 years as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, a role that reflected his steadfast nature and commitment to community. After retiring from the USPS, he continued to serve as a Security Guard at the Texas State Capitol for the House of Representatives, working diligently up until his final days.
Rick had a passion for the world around him—particularly the serenity of nature. Whether walking outdoors, listening to the wind in the trees, or simply appreciating the quiet beauty of a moment, he found joy in life’s simplest pleasures.
He is survived by his loving children Beth Lee and husband Michael of Georgetown and Mark Robinson of Cedar Park; grandchildren Hannah Campbell and her husband Tanner Rogers, Kaden Lee, Elijah Robinson, and Ezekiel and wife Sarah Robinson; and great-grandson Dean Austin Robinson. Rick is also survived by his siblings Lloyd Robinson of Chillicothe, Illinois, and Wanda Ely of Deltona, Florida; his first and second wives Patricia Alexander and Kimberly Robinson; and his stepchildren Katherine Leonard with husband Shawn and Kevin Townsend with wife MaryAna.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers William Robinson of Princeville and Robert Robinson of Simpson, Illinois.
A memorial service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Georgetown, Texas. A live streaming option will be available for those unable to attend in person.
Flowers are welcome; however, those who wish to make a lasting tribute may consider a donation to
the Veterans of Foreign Wars or the National Veterans Foundation—causes that were close to Rick’s heart.
Rick’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the quiet strength he carried throughout his journey. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
