

Ruth Ebeling Archer passed away quietly on Tuesday, May 25th, 2010. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by Richard, her husband of 62 years; son Ross of San Jose, California; son Rick and daughter-in-law Lynn Sheehan of Holland, Michigan; granddaughters Elizabeth Archer Hess and her husband Brian of Calumet, Michigan and Emily Archer of Charleston, West Virginia and her fiancé Curtis Sproul; niece Caryl Smith of Georgetown, Texas; niece Maxine Portner and her husband Fred of San Antonio, Texas; niece Madelyn Ann Toland of Grand Canyon, Arizona; and nephew Steve Toland and his wife Ruth of San Antonio, Texas. The youngest of four sisters, Ruth was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on October 2nd, 1925 to parents Arthur Ebeling and Adele Gibbons Ebeling. She graduated from Wheeling High School where she was editor of the school newspaper and yearbook. She attended secretarial school at West Liberty State College in West Virginia and served for many years as the secretary at Grace Presbyterian Church in Walnut Creek, California. She retired to St. Louis, Missouri to be near her grandchildren in 1985 and moved to Georgetown, Texas in 1995. A memorial service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held on Friday, June 4th at 10:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown. A private interment will follow at Mount View Cemetery in Dallas, West Virginia. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Presbyterian Church, 703 Church Street, Georgetown, Texas.
