Sheila Stephenson, 78, of Georgetown passed away at home peacefully on June 25, 2022, surrounded by family. She was the wife of Douglas Stephenson and celebrated 56 years of marriage on June 24, 2022.
Sheila was born in Ralls, Texas, on November 8, 1943, to Forrest and Iva Martin and was raised in Littlefield, TX. She graduated Abilene Christian College in 1966 where she met her husband, Doug. Sheila taught History until dedicating her life to be at home with her three children. She later served as the secretary for the Georgetown Church of Christ for a decade where she was a dedicated member for 40 years, involved in many ministries including teaching bible classes, quilting, and the Bereavement and Jail Ministries. Sheila enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid reader, and loved quilting and traveling (making it to all 50 states with magnets to prove it!). She will be remembered as kind and loving with a welcoming smile for everyone. Sheila had a beautiful voice, loved to sing, was an excellent cook and enjoyed exchanging hundreds of recipes with cherished family and friends. She wasn’t known for raising her voice – except maybe when watching the Cowboys or Aggies in football!
Sheila is survived by her husband Doug, daughter Dena Silveri of Delaware, Ohio (Mike), son Jay Stephenson of Colleyville, TX (Tiffany), Son-in-law Craig Pullin of San Marcos, TX; grandchildren Leah Pullin, Cory Pullin (Franny), Elle Stephenson, and Brock Silveri; sister Sandra Carruth of Amarillo, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sheila was preceded in death by parents Forrest and Iva Martin, daughter Marla Pullin, and sister Shelley Sailsbury.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff of the Enhabit Hospice in Georgetown as well as the many friends and family for the love and care given to Sheila.
