Vicente Camacho

Vicente Jesus Camacho was a caring husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend to many. He left this world on Thursday August 27, 2026. He was born to Bicente and Elvira Camacho in Georgetown, Texas. After graduating from Georgetown high school in 1964, he joined the Army National Guard. He married his best friend, Isabel in 1971. They had three daughters, Michelle Meinke, Emily Clear, and Kimberly Camacho. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage together in 2021.

Vicente proudly served 25 years of service to our great country. He dedicated 35 years of his career to Texas Electric Coop, later known as Solomon Electric. He picked up another job to keep him busy at Jack-In-The-Box for over 10 years. He also grew to love plants and landscaping his own yard in Georgetown while he was able. He spent many afternoons at garden centers with Isabel browsing beautiful flowers to plant in their gardens. After surviving Covid in 2022, Vicente was blessed with four more years of life as the Clear family welcomed him into their home. He was the happiest, funniest, goofiest, and most loving grandpa to his grandkids. Cars were his love, but especially muscle cars. He would sit for hours reading “Classic Car Round Up” magazines, intrigued by the cars he read about and what modifications had been done to them. While he lost his ability to drive, the family took him to many local car shows and festivals to feed his need for antique cars.

Vicente faced many health challenges including dementia and prostate cancer for many years, but in the last year he successfully overcame lung cancer. Through it all, the family worked to make sure his remaining years were filled not simply with care, but with experiences, vacations, laughter, and time together. Vicente will be remembered as a hardworking man, a husband, a father, grandpa, veteran, and a man who could always find something to joke about. His family is grateful for the years they were given with him and the memories that will continue long after his passing. The family would like to extend our many thanks to the numerous doctors overseeing his care at Baylor Scott & White Round Rock, Georgetown, and Temple as well as Dr. Douglas Rivera at Texas Oncology.

Vicente is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife. He is survived by his sisters Rosemary Massey and Mary Alice Rhea. In addition, daughter Michelle and son-in-law Steve Meinke; Emily and son-in-law Jake Clear; Kimberly Camacho and Mario Padilla; grandchildren Matthew, Kaleb, Arianna, and Alexis Meinke; Kaylin & Gracee Clear; Jeremiah & Alexander Padilla; sister-in-law Amelia Paiz, Aunt Margie Riojas, many cousins, numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his wife’s beloved dog Olaf. A visitation with the family will be held at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel between 5-7 pm on Friday September 11, 2026. The funeral services will take place the following morning, Saturday, September 12 at 10am also at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. He will be laid to rest at IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown following the funeral service.
