

Vivian L. Peters 95 of Georgetown, Texas passed away February 24, 2008. She had been a resident of the Wesleyan Nursing Home for the last seven years. Born in Florence, Texas on May 4, 1912 to Moses C. Lewallen and Alpha Teague, she grew up on a farm in that area. She married Ernest O. Peters on December 15, 1929 and together in Weir, Texas they raised two daughters, Joyce and Jean. Vivian and Ernest moved to Georgetown in 1953 and made their home here for the rest of their lives. Vivian was a homemaker who had an avid passion for quilting, tatting, and other handwork. She enjoyed entering and winning quilting contests in the Georgetown area and quilting at Hand Crafts Unlimited on the square. She was also a wonderful gardener. Her irises were a beautiful display of color each Spring. Vivian is survived by her two daughters Joyce Walden of Georgetown and Jean Schneider of Taylor, one brother Raymond Lewallen of Moulton and six grandchildren Becky Kennedy and husband Tim of Georgetown, Scott Walden and wife Wanda of Georgetown, Rex Schneider and wife Ginger of Taylor, Stephanie Newberg and husband Gary of Pflugerville, Tina Schneider of Austin, and Travis Walden and wife Sandra of Georgetown. She also is survived by ten great grandchildren Haley Lee and husband Jason, Grayson Kennedy, Misty and Tanner Walden and Chad and Cole Hall all of Georgetown; Autumn and Spencer Schneider of Taylor; and Courtney and Dana Newberg of Pflugerville. Vivian also had one great-great grandchild, Kennedy Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest of sixty-nine years and son-in-laws Donald Walden and Lenard Schneider. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesleyan Nursing Home or the First Presbyterian Church of Georgetown.
