Warren Ray Lafferty

Ray was born on May 23, 1967, in Houston, Texas, to Ben and Laine Lafferty. He grew up rough and rowdy alongside his two brothers, Kirk and Quinn. While attending Leander High School, Ray secretly had a crush on Melissa Becker, who later fell for him. The two were married on July 1, 1995, beginning a beautiful partnership that spanned 31 years. Together they built a life centered on love, hard work, and family. They welcomed their daughter, Bailey, who later blessed Ray with his two beautiful granddaughters, Lainey and Josie.

Ray spent his career as a machinist, where he became known not only for his skill and work ethic but for his willingness to teach others. He was hardworking, intelligent, and always eager to share what he knew. Every morning he hit the ground running. An adventurer at heart, Ray loved exploring new places and learning new things. He consistently put the needs of others ahead of his own, offering quiet care and support to everyone who crossed his path.

His paradise on earth was the home he built and cared for. He spent countless days shredding on the tractor, clearing trees, and long evenings burning brush, taking immense pride in maintaining the beauty of his 30+ acres. As the day came to a close, his favorite place was on the porch with a beer or a glass of whiskey, watching the deer, turkey, ducks, and birds gather at the feeder while admiring the life he had built, that’s who he truly was.

Above all else, Ray's world revolved around his girls. His greatest love was his wife, Melissa. He was a devoted father to Bailey, pouring his love, guidance, and unwavering support into her throughout her life. Despite his playful protest, he was called "PopPop" by his granddaughters who brought him great joy. And no day was complete without his beloved little Lexi curled up beside him on the recliner under a blanket.

He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Lafferty; his daughter, Bailey; his cherished granddaughters, Lainey and Josie; his father, Ben; his brothers, Kirk and Quinn; and many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss him dearly. Through Christ, he is reunited again with his mother, Laine.

Visitation will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 393 N Interstate Hwy 35, Georgetown, TX 78628, US, on July 1, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 11:00 am to 11:45 am.

A Committal Service will take place at IOOF Cemetery, Smith Creek Rd, Georgetown, TX 78626, US, on July 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
