Winifred Agnes Larsen November 15, 1930 – July 18, 2019With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of our mom, Winnie, but we celebrate her life and the fact that she is now with her husband, Paul, in the arms of her loving Savior.First and foremost, we acknowledge her deep love for Paul, the love of her life. Winnie met Paul at a roller-skating rink in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, while she was still in high school. Together, they built a family and a warm, extended circle of treasured friends as they embarked on life’s journey. She was his devoted caregiver during his last few years, rarely leaving his side to participate in activities at their Assisted Living home and always ensuring that he was included, despite his limited mobility. Winnie’s abiding love for Paul was evident to the end – always telling her family, “I love him as much today as I did the day I married him.” They demonstrated for all of us what a true Legacy of Love is. When they passed away within weeks of each other, they were anticipating the celebration of their 70th wedding anniversary. Winnie was a kind-hearted mother to Barbara (Ken) and Beverly. She had a strong faith and cherished being a grandma to Brynn (Jared) and great-grandmother to Abigael, Alice and Anelise. She often told friends that her son-in-law, Ken, was the son she always wanted. She loved camping, sewing, playing cards and board games, and making new friends. She was a key organizer of memorable family reunions that brought all of her siblings and their children and grandchildren together. In the 1990’s, after 12 years living full-time as “snowbirds” in their 35-foot travel trailer, Winnie and Paul relocated from Wisconsin to Central Texas to be near their two daughters. However, distance did not compromise her deep connection with lifelong friends. She was determined to stay in touch through letters and phone calls.Upon arriving in Georgetown, Texas, Winnie and Paul wasted no time getting involved in their new community – volunteering at church, participating in water aerobics, conducting security patrols in their neighborhood and partying with their new neighbors. They were instrumental in the formation of a square dance group in their new Sun City development. Winnie and Paul’s odyssey took them to many exciting destinations, including camping trips throughout Wisconsin and across the country as well as several international vacations.A life well-lived – a journey fulfilled – rest in peace. We love you, mom!Winnie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her parents, Peter and Frances Kreuser, two brothers, Marvin (Jeannette) Kreuser and Robert Kreuser, and sister, Dolores (Hilbert) Merkel.
