Hi, your mom was my 6th grade teacher at St. Frances of Rome School, and for some reason, she popped into my head about two weeks ago and has been on my mind ever since. So tonight I decided to look her up online, thinking I likely wouldn’t be able to visit her anytime soon, but perhaps I could find a phone number or address to call or write. I was heartbroken to instead find her info listed in this obituary. I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom was truly the best teacher I ever had. Ever. She was tough, but she did everything with such a great sense of humor, it was always clear that she genuinely cared about her students and she did everything she could to help us be successful. Even after I’d moved on to 7th and 8th grade, I’d still wander into her classroom after school to talk to her, and I so admired her that when I made my Confirmation a few years after I left her class, I asked her to be my sponsor, to which she readily agreed. I spent some time at her home that she shared with your dad in Glendora while I was in high school (my parents would go out of town and they wouldn’t leave me home alone), and I’m sorry to admit that we drifted after that. She taught me how to cross-stitch, and it’s a hobby I still enjoy to this day. She was a really amazing teacher and a warm and wonderful person I was fortunate enough to cross paths with in my life, and I’m so sorry I missed the opportunity to tell her that myself.
