Beverly worked alongside my mother, Shirley Daniel, in Azusa Released Time for many years, I'm guessing in the 1980's and 90's and early 2000's. She was also a teacher for  Good News Clubs (GNC), and she taught my own young children and their friends in a GNC at my mom's apartment complex in the early 2000's. I ran into her again years later when I, too, started working with Good News Clubs, around 2008, after my mom's death. Beverly taught clubs and regularly attended the training meetings in Arcadia that were  offered by Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), and she kept teaching children the good news of Jesus and kept attending the trainings for as long as she could. When she could no longer drive at night, she switched to participating in the daytime CEF training meetings in Glendora. Rarely have I met someone so faithful to their volunteer work for so long, and I can't think of anyone else in my sphere who ministered alongside both my mother AND me, in our respective organizations, and then even later with my daughter Rachel also, whom she had  taught as a child and then teamed with as a young adult at the L.A. County Fair CEF Storytelling Booth . Beverly was an amazing person, so committed to what she did. I'll never forget when she called me (or did I call her?) and she joyfully told me that her husband (a very intelligent man who was a physician),  had prayed to receive Jesus as his Savior. She had prayed for that  for many, many years, and when it finally happened,  she was so very happy. In closing, it was my privilege to know Beverly, the only person I'm aware of who volunteered in children's ministry alongside three generations of my family--my mom, me and my daughter--over a span of many years.   My condolences to her family.    She spoke often about her grown children. It was obvious that she loved them very much and was quite proud of them. I met Beverley when I was a young 2nd Lt wife at Loring AFB, ME. She was President of PWOC and quickly brought me into leadership with her. Beverley wore her wedding dress on her and Carl’s anniversary and invited a few of us to celebrate with them. This left a lasting impression and inspired me to wear mine on our 10th and 20th, saying our vows with a few gathered friends. Beverley often wrote to me at Christmas, so I came searching to see if she had passed away. I knew her as a loving servant of Christ and kind and welcoming older woman.

I met Beverley when she joined our Native Daughters of the Golden West Parlor.  She was a woman of great wit, grace and charm.  I remember her wicked sense of humor and her wonderful tales of travels with Carl.   She delighted us with her poetry.   I had the honor of giving her rides to many of our breakfast "meetings".   On one such morning, I casually asked her if she needed anything at the Mall.   She said, "Well, actually, I need a new bra."   So began a two hour adventure at Macy's...  We shopped and talked and laughed thru every department.   Just two elderly ladies (neither one of us avid shoppers) enjoying each other's company and marveling at the changes in the retail  world.  I will remember many other things about  my friend -- but this is my favorite memory,    I will miss her smile and energy.  Rest well, my friend -- I hope the Reunion is all you imagined and more!
