Chris Allec of San Dimas, CA, beloved husband of Laura (Billharz) Allec and loving father of Sarah Williamson and Elizabeth (Ellie) Heinrich, passed away July 8, 2022, at Kaiser Permanente, Baldwin Park after a brief battle with cancer. He was 57.
The much loved youngest child of Dave and Donna Allec, he rejoins his sister Pam and brother Gary in God’s Kingdom. Chris had a heart big enough for everyone he met, though he loved his family most of all. He was a skilled and creative artist and used that - and his playful puppeteering - to engage everyone in the moment. To the last he was upbeat - with his characteristic outrageous puns and humor that endeared him to all. He will make a great, if somewhat mischievous angel.
Art has always been part of Chris’ nature. Chris began drawing at a young age by drawing antiques in his mother’s kitchen. Throughout school and college he honed his skills. He graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State Fullerton. He went on to teach art in a variety of settings – at Ontario High School, in after school programs, in Laura’s elementary school classes, at the library, and at Pacific Clinics. Chris always used his talents as a ministry in order to bless others.
Chris loved fishing, bowling, chess and cards - and traveling adventures with Laura - but most of all he loved sharing God’s Word with everyone, especially those often neglected. He is greatly missed and survived by his wife, daughters, parents, sister Cheryl, brother Jayme, sons-in-law Forrest Williamson and Aaron Heinrich and many dear family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on August 9, 2022, at Newsong Church, 945 W. Covina Blvd., San Dimas, CA. Viewing is at 1:00 pm, memorial service is at 1:30 pm. Chris will be buried at Oakdale Cemetery in Glendora following the service, with a reception afterward at the home of Ken and Vickie Dalton,
332 S. Huntington Ave. in San Dimas. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made in his name to the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) or to the Wellness Center at Pacific Clinics in Monrovia.
