

David Sears, age 66 of Glendora, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 12, 2021. David was born on December 13, 1954 in Pomona, California. He was the son of the late Dick and Dorothy Sears. A devoted family man, he was survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Sharon Sears, two daughters, Jessica Sears Brown (Michael) and Rachel Sears Fernandez (Marlon) He loved and adored his six beautiful grandchildren, with one on the way, Jonathan Fernandez, Neriah Brown, Katy Brown, Sian Brown, Phoebe Brown and Soleil Brown. David also leaves one brother Doug Sears and his wife Sally. A niece Shelby Sears Crawford (Scott), children Taylor and Samantha Crawford and a nephew Steven Sears (Samantha) and children Spencer and Sydney Sears.
Dave was a longtime resident of Temple City, attended Temple City Schools and graduated from Temple City High School in 1973. In his youth, he was a member of Boy Scout Troop 174 and Sunnyslope Little League Baseball. He earned an Associates Degree from Pasadena City College in 1975 and entered the Army the same year. While in the Army he was stationed in Germany with the 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armor Division. During the winter months he served as a Ski Patrolman at the Armed Forced Recreation Center, Garmish-Partenkirchen, in the Bavarian Alps.
Dave was a faithful employee of the Southern California Gas Company for 35 years. He retired in 2018 as a Customer Service Supervisor. Dave and Sharon have lived in Glendora for the past 20 years.
An avid outdoorsman, Dave had a passion for fishing, hunting and camping. He often visited Rock Creek Lake in the Eastern Sierras with his brother Doug and friends Roger Garner and Larry Castorena. He also had a favorite spot in the Western Mojave Desert known as Bill’s Place.
Dave’s kind spirit will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A Memorial service, with military honors, will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11:15 am, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518 (arrive 30 minutes early)
