2025, with his loving husband Ken Horn by his side. David grew up in Mount Vernon Iowa in the
Wolfe family home on Main Street where the Mount Vernon Bank & Trust currently sits. His
father Dr. Thomas Lindley’s doctor’s office was relocated and is now the Mount Vernon Visitors
Center.
David’s first job was at the Strand movie theatre and he attended Cornell College in Mount
Vernon. David proudly served in the United States Army for six years. He started his banking
career in Cedar Rapids, then moved to Los Angeles where he became Branch Manager at City
National Bank in Beverly Hills. He affectionately referred to that bank as “A Bank to the Stars”
and he regularly served many celebrities.
David had a love for travel and visited many of the great opera houses in Europe. He was a
member of the American Legion for 30 years and worked regularly with what he called “his
seniors”, caring for elderly vets who didn’t have the means, and visiting them several times a
week.
A memorial celebration of David’s life will be held in Mount Vernon Iowa at a future date to be
announced. If you wish to make a donation in David’s name, the LA Veteran’s Affairs (VA)
Hospital provided wonderful care for him over the years.
In the end and as always, David did it his way!
