On or around August 18, 2016, Debbie Resh passed away suddenly at her home in San Dimas, California, at the age of 64. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn, and son-in-law, Patrick Fithian, and five cats.
Debbie was born on February 2, 1952 at 11:30 pm at St. Luke Hospital in Pasadena, California. Her parents were Neal and Elizabeth Crawford, and she had one biological brother, Marty. Debbie was raised in Baldwin Park and Covina, California. As a young teen, she fell in love with Larry Shinton (deceased 2014) and they conceived a daughter, Carolyn. During those early years of young teenage motherhood, Debbie and Carolyn lived with their loving grandmother/great grandmother, Goldie, in Pasadena, California. Later, as a young adult, Debbie married Rob Resh (deceased 2008) and they were together eight years until they divorced amicably. Debbie relocated from Pasadena to San Dimas, California in 1997, where she resided until her death.
Debbie focused primarily on motherhood for many years until an opportunity presented itself for her to work for Mobil Oil Corporation. She was employed with Mobil for at least 15 years and another 15 or more within the petroleum industry. Many close friendships were developed throughout the years with co-workers and employees. In her spare time, she enjoyed weekend trips with friends and family, and especially loved to host friends and family at her Pasadena home during Christmas time and for the New Year's Rose Parade celebration.
Debbie was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. Her family was rounded out by her five cats, Ditto, Ellie, Rylie, Daisy and Latte. She also embraced her daughter's six Miniature Australian Shepherd dogs, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Tasmania, Adelaide and Vegemite, as her own "grandpuppies", and was her daughter's biggest cheerleader in all of her competitive endeavors within dog sports.
Debbie 's wish was to be cremated and to be laid to rest with her grandmother, Goldie, at Calvary Catholic Cemetary in Los Angeles, California. These arrangements are being coordinated under the direction of Carolyn and the Oakdale Mortuary, in Glendora, CA.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 12pm - 5pm at the Glenwood Townhomes Clubhouse, located at 1288 Tarryglen Ln, San Dimas California. The family invites all of Debbie's friends to come and celebrate her life with them. Instead of flowers, please consider providing a home for one of Debbie's cats, Ditto, Ellie, Rylie or Latte, or please assist us in finding loving homes.
