My heart goes out to the family of Erick. Although our friendship evolved via his business, over a few months it became amazing to me that we had like kind values pertaining to family, hard work, and the importance of setting a positive example for young folks to follow as a guide to a good life. Too soon he has left us but his memory will always be present. Sincerely, Larry Burton

Our deepest condolences to his wife, children, family, and friends. Erick will always be remembered for his good sense of humor, and we are grateful for the good advice he always gave to my boys. Rest in peace 🙏

You were there in every accomplishment and celebration of my life such as my birthday parties, elementary culmination, high school graduation celebration, to you congratulating me when I got into UCLA. I remember I gifted you a UCLA cap for Father’s Day this year and you were really happy that you gave me the biggest hug. When I began my first year at UCLA, I was already thinking about my graduation and who I’ll invite to be there during my special moment when I cross the stage. You were guaranteed already on that list because you were an important person in my life and I’m sad you won’t be able to attend.

It will feel weird to see you’ll be missing at every holiday, celebration, and family vacations. Some memorable vacations with you include going to Mazatlán, Acapulco, Ixtapa, and our most recent trip which was to Sequoia. I will forever miss your humor (specifically the jokes towards my dad), when you would say lowkey in every sentence, but especially when every time you would see me you would say luuuppp.

I still can’t comprehend your gone. You were funny and an amazing uncle to my sisters, Lala, and me. I’ll miss you and I am forever grateful to have called you my uncle.

There are too many memories to think of when thinking of a specific memory of Erick in which he has been part of my life. From the trips to Mazatlan, Laughlin, Nevada, and more, Erick has been the spark and unity on our family trips. He always made the trips really fun, memorable, and of course funny. Those trips will never feel truly the same without him. I will always remember the time we went on a banana boat in Mexico and swam to the middle of the lake on the 4th of July; I will always cherish those memories.

I will miss you teasing everyone all the time and making the funniest jokes that I would find myself still laughing at even moments later. Thank you for always telling everyone around you to not be shy and being outgoing. Keep an eye on us and our family and know that we will always have you in our hearts. Although the New Years Eves, Christmas Eves, and pool days at our house will never be the same without you, I will always cherish and be grateful that I was able to have you be a part of my life.

Que Erick descanse en paz y que Dios te tenga en su santa gloria. Toda la familia te vamos ha extrañar. Navidad, Año Nuevo, y vacaciones se van a sentir diferente sin ti en todo los momentos que estuvimos juntos como familia. 🙏

Coach Erick,

You will be missed, you always had a smile on your face and it was a pleasure to spend time with you. My condolences to your family, may God grant serenity and comfort during this difficulty time.

Coach Fernando

My prayers and my heart is with you and your family at this time. I am in Colorado, but my heart is with you and I’ll always remember Eric. He was always there for me when at the apartments. He always had a big smile on his face and he’s a trustworthy, loving person he was always helpful and I am so grateful that he was in my life for the short time that I had him in my life. You never have enough time but he’s with with God now and I’m sure that he’s at peace my best both you and your family and friends. Thank you. Take care. May God bless and keep you all bye

Erick was a wonderful professional who became a trusted friend. Many condolences to you his beloved family and friends. I will honor him always. With love from Judy AmicAngelo and family.

My coach, my partner in crime, my supporter, my lifesaver, my GOAT, and last but not least, my favorite Tio. I couldn’t ask for a better Tio. You were such a supportive person. You would show up to kids’ games even when they weren’t yours. Since you left, basketball hasn’t been the same. I won’t be hearing your voice or your whistle on the court anymore.

You were more than my coach. You were like my best friend. I could talk to you about anything. Whenever I wanted to get away from my family, you would pick me up and take me to your house so I could sleep over and hang out with you and my cousin. Those memories will always mean so much to me.

You once said I was like your daughter. You said Tia wanted a daughter, so you both treated me like one. You even said you would adopt me. You were always on me about my grades and basketball because you wanted me to succeed. I truly regret never telling you this, but you were truly like a dad to me. I thought you would always be here, so I never thought I would lose you so early.

It hurts knowing you won’t get to see me play at Eagle Rock High School. Without you, I probably wouldn’t even be here playing with such amazing girls. You were so excited to see me play that you said, “I can’t wait to see my fingers have rings on them.” That memory will always stay with me.

And I could never forget, “Let’s go, Twinkle Toes!” That will always be my favorite memory.

People have told me how excited you were to see me play for Eagle Rock and how proud you were of me. But Tio, you should be proud of yourself too. You helped make me who I am today. You believed in me, pushed me, supported me, and always showed up for me.

I wish I could have told you how much you meant to me while you were still here. I hope you knew how much I loved you and appreciated everything you did for me. Every time I step onto the court, I’ll carry your memory with me and play with you in my heart.

I love you Tio Erick. Twinle Toes Forever🕊️❤️!

Miss you primo may you rest in paradise.

Erick was a really cool guy that i had the pleasure of meeting, first from coaching his son Kevin and then coaching against him and his team at Yosemite . You can tell all the kids around him liked him and respected him automatically made him a cool guy in my book . Also had the pleasure of coaching along side him in allstars last year . He will be missed by many for sure , my condolences to his family in this hard time 🙏

He was an amazing person and you can tell the minute he walked into any room. He lit up the room with laughter because he was always such a jokester, definitely the life of the party. He love to be sitting with you and cracking jokes all day long. I will miss every time he would greet me or say goodbye, he would kiss the top of my head with a big squeezed hug. He would always give me advice about life and just make sure I was okay and I can’t believe our last talk was it. I will always take his last words he said to me and cherish it. Love you Erick always will be remembered. 🤍

So many memories with him, the best one I can think of everytime he would do is anytime he would greet me he would always give me a big hug and squeeze me and kiss the top of my head. I will miss him doing that. also always giving me advice about life with Laura there sometimes.

Erick,

These is no such thing as truly being gone when you have left such a beautiful and lasting imprint on the lives of so many. Your memory will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing you.

We will miss your boisterous laugh, your unforgettable sense of humor, your jokester personality, and that contagious smile that could brighten any room. Most of all, we will miss your presence — the energy, love, and spirit you brought into the lives of your family, friends, and our Yosemite Park family.

Thank you for the countless memories, the laughter, the good times, and the moments that we will treasure forever. Though your time with us was far too short, the impact you made will last a lifetime.

You may no longer be beside us, but you will always be part of us. We will carry your memory, your laughter, and the love you shared wherever we go.

Rest peacefully, Hermano. You will never be forgotten. Your memory will forever live in our hearts.

“Sometimes your prayers are answered in the form of people. Notice the angels that come into your life disguised as humans.”

This was a great memory of our boys going head-to-head on the court. We randomly ran into each other. I will never forget this day. I will cherish all the conversations we had and lunches we shared, and thank you for always helping us out at work. Rest easy, brother.

Dear brother as I text this I’m missing you so much. Thank you for all the memories growing up the laughs the jokes the good and the bad times. Thank you for being the best uncle to my girls thank you for always being there when I needed you thank you for pushing me to do better things thank you for the dinner nights thank you the talks thank you for the love thank you for being you for bringing this amazing group of friend that we now call family thank you for the time I got to be with you and love you. Rest in peace big brother

So much to say, so few characters allowed. Our relationship was rocky at first; you saw my tattoos and said I wasn't good enough for your sister. I totally understand you. Once you saw my work, my change, my dedication to being a father, you became my big brother, trying to bully me. Lol. You opened another level of Erick and showed me your love, your kindness, your support. Some people would see us arguing on the softball field and in our guys' chat. But only a few know the support you gave me, the words of encouragement, the "be better, do better" conversations. The last few months, you showed yet another level of your love and support. I will always be grateful for your help, your talks, your love, my brother. I'll miss you till my last days, and I promise to love, protect, and encourage your sister and your nieces. We will all miss you. The leadership, the glue to our family, cannot be replaced. You're one of a kind, Erick. Rest in peace, brother. Yosemite 2026 is in the playoffs. We will be better next game until we meet again. Watch over us. N help us win fooo. Lol love you
