

Gilberto was born on November 20, 1931 at Maternidad Obrera in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba. He was the son of Juan Lorenzo and Maria Bosmenier. Gilberto grew up in Havana, Cuba.
Gilberto was raised with three siblings. He had two brothers Aristedes Bosmenier, Orestes Bosmenier and one sister Hiede Bosmenier. Gilberto was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young boy, Gilberto had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Gilberto was an active child who took part in swimming. In his spare time he liked to go to the beach. However, to Gilberto, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.
A typical teenager, Gilberto had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Havana Secundaria in 1943. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. His favorite class in high school was math.
Gilberto enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Gilberto was able to manage the balancing act. He pursued an education in accounting.
Fortunately, Gilberto enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Gilberto worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was accounting in Cuba, until he immigrated to the United States. He was employed for 24 years in the painting industry. Gilberto always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Gilberto enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were swimming, going to the beach, and boxing. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
When Gilberto’s retirement finally arrived in 2005, he was well prepared. His new life involved enjoying his stay at his home in Baldwin Park, California. In retirement, he found new pleasure in traveling to places with beaches, like Hawaii and Bahamas. Even in retirement, Gilberto continued to stay in touch with his old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Gilberto was active in his new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered him.
Gilberto passed away on February 10, 2018 at at home in Baldwin Park, California. Gilberto fought a brave battle to the end due to complications with heart disease. He is survived by his spouse Balkiss Giraldez, his brother Aristides Bosminier, and cousins Cathy Corral, Cristina Echemendia, Maria Julia Echemendia. Services were held at Oakdale Memorial, Glendora, California. Gilberto was laid to rest at Oakdale Memorial, Glendora, California.
Simply stated, Gilberto was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Gilberto leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
