Héctor was born on October 2, 1939 in Uruguay.
Hector’s love for football began in Uruguay at the age of 11 when he was playing on a boys' team in Plaza #5 of the Union. At the age of 15 Hector went to practice for Nacional, where he was a substitute in the 4th division. The following year, Hector moved to Danube and played in all of the lower divisions, reserve, and first substitute. Hector was also in the 4th and 5th selection in the youth pre-selection that became the 1958 champions in Chile. In 1960 Hector had the opportunity to move to Peñarol, but Danube did not want to give him a pass, so Hector stopped playing for a while. Upon his return, Hector played in Division 'B' of Colón where he had the opportunity to participate in the 1964 pre-Olympic selection in Peru to go to Japan. Hector also had the opportunity to participate in the selection of the South American Ascent that was played in Argentina. In 1964 Colón was champion and climbed to Division ‘A’. Hector finished his professional career at the age of 26 at Defensor. It was very difficult to play for small teams during that era, and for that reason Hector dedicated himself to work and played as a semi-professional until immigrating to the United States with his wife Judit; ultimately laying down roots in El Monte, California where he and Judit raised a family and retired from Sirena Apparel Group. Hector’s love of soccer was lifelong and he continued to play soccer with other players his age well into his early 80’s.
