I remember when I started with the Department, Hermes’ unit was a neighboring unit in the old Barranca Office. As a new employee, Hermes was always so pleasant and kind if I had a question or needed a field itinerary signed. As the years went on and I became his peer, we shared in laughs. Nothing but positivity from Hermes, even when dealing with some not so pleasant situations within the office. His Spirit Lives on... May God Bless his Family.

Respectfully ,

I served as a Supervising Social Worker for many years with Hermes before he retired. Many a Social Worker wanted to be in his unit to be with a giving supportive man in a tough job. After he retired i think we had a day picking up some furniture for someone in his family with my truck. Outside work we had a great day laughing about life, family, and DCFS. I'm honored and happy to have known him in my life just as many others.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Hermes. I worked with him at the County of Los Angeles what a wonderful and kind person he was. I am praying for his wife children and family that you all find peace in God’s gentle care

I had the honor of calling Hermes my Boss for a long time. He was so dedicated to serving and ensuring that all the children we serve were safe. He had this way of calming me down when I was so stressed out. He enjoyed all his years at DCFS and I am truly blessed that I learned my job from such a wonderful man. He was a man of faith and believed in the Lord. I will miss you Boss. May you RIP. ❤️🙏🏼
